I've finally bitten the bull and grabbed the bullet by the horns (bad attempt at humour I know!) and have started fasting today. So far so good after nearly 18 hours. I realised I had to do something when I could no longer bend over to put my socks on without my gut getting in the way. So, time to take action after watching Michael Mosley's documentary and having read his book.
I'm male, knocking on towards free bus pass time and have lived a pretty sedentary existence, certainly at work where I was sat sitting as they say for most of my working life. Gave up golf about 10 years ago and have recently learned how not to drown and actually managed some snorkeling last month in Egypt.
As my wife works away during the week at the moment I'm trying fasting on Tuesdays and Thursdays and hopefully she will see the benefits and join me in due course.
I too have been a bit of a lurker and have been impressed by how friendly and supportive people are on this site so I look forward to giving something back myself and contributing. I'm particularly interested in how this new way of life will impact on my memory and general sense of well-being. I'm looking forward to the journey ahead as they say. With an estimated body fat of 29% and BMI of 27.16 I've got some serious losses to make so here goes!!
Regards to all intrepid dieters and good luck.
Pete.
