Our Frequently Asked Questions topic will answer many of your fasting & weight loss questions!

If you're new and have a question or need some advice, please give us as much information as you can about your situation in order for us to be able to help you as best we can. For example, it's helpful to know your BMI/weight, how much you want to lose, any medical conditions which might affect your weight and (if you've started fasting already) how you do your fasts in terms of splitting up your calories, what you eat etc. Thanks!

Hey y'all....my name is Karen or Blondzrbest. I bought this book after seeing it on Good Morning America. I have successfully lost weight on Atkins and kept off 75 pounds for over 3 years, then my Dad got ill and passed away and I regained 60 pounds. Although I liked Low Carb I missed some foods like white baked potatoes and homemade mac and cheese. I have always done better on restrictive plans rather than eating 5 to 6 small meals a day. I don't have "crashes" from not eating and prefer not to eat as often. This seems like an excellent way to lose the weight and maintain the loss. I have started the 4 day FAST that is talked about in the book before embarking on the regular diet. I will also be doing the fasts 3 days per week (Tues., Thurs., and Sat.). I would like to lose 55 pounds so I figure that 3 days per week will work best for me.

Hello Karen and welcome to the forum :)
I never did a 4 day fast, so lots of luck with that! I hope you enjoy 5:2 (or 4:3!) as much as I do - it really seems to suit me.
There are lots of friendly people on here to chat to, and the 'nerds' explain everything!
Don't forget to measure yourself too so you'll be able to see how much smaller you are soon :)
