Introduce Yourself!

Our Frequently Asked Questions topic will answer many of your fasting & weight loss questions!

If you're new and have a question or need some advice, please give us as much information as you can about your situation in order for us to be able to help you as best we can. For example, it's helpful to know your BMI/weight, how much you want to lose, any medical conditions which might affect your weight and (if you've started fasting already) how you do your fasts in terms of splitting up your calories, what you eat etc. Thanks!

I've just signed on to the forum.

I've been doing 5:2 about three weeks and have just completed my 6th fast, which was the easiest yet.

This diet loves me and I love it (other than some IBS issues). I didn't get a starting weight till after a couple fasts, but in the last 11 days have lost over 6 pounds...almost too fast. But I have a very long way to go, so I think I'll take the fast loss until I've lost about 10% and then think about slowing it down, if it hasn't already by then.

I haven't been watching what I eat on feed days, but I think I've been tending, sometimes at least, to take healthier alternatives and portion sizes. I'm more aware of if I'm really hungry or if I'm just clock hungry, then I'll just have a cup of Earl Grey tea.

I'm in the US, in Utah. I have two cats, a dog and five goldfish. I'm a weaver and knitter and like to make cheese.

This looks like a great forum, I'm happy to be here.

Hello and welcome! Great loss so far - I bet you're pleased. Hope it continues well - I love 5:2 too!

(Mmmm - making cheese sounds lovely!)

Welcome to the forums!! I'm a knitter too (can you tell?) I keep thinking someday I'll try weaving, but I have too many unfinished projects as it is ;-)

Thanks for the welcome.

Works in progress are a problem  , but in weaving at least they are limited to the number of looms you have; and looms cost more and take up more room than knitting needles. I currently have one, will get another this fall and eventually plan to get a third. But that is the limit that will fit in my studio space.

Do you reserve one project for fast days? I started a tote made up of crocheted pieces and I only work on it on fast days.
