Introduce Yourself!

Our Frequently Asked Questions topic will answer many of your fasting & weight loss questions!

If you're new and have a question or need some advice, please give us as much information as you can about your situation in order for us to be able to help you as best we can. For example, it's helpful to know your BMI/weight, how much you want to lose, any medical conditions which might affect your weight and (if you've started fasting already) how you do your fasts in terms of splitting up your calories, what you eat etc. Thanks!

Hi, Just started this diet after reading about it on another forum. So thought I would join you to get a bit of support  I have watched the video and hopefully this change in eating will make a difference to me.

Hi and Welcome to the forums!! It sure has made a difference in this house. I am no longer morbidly obese, and as of this week, my husband is no longer obese :-)

I hope you don't mind that I removed your duplicate post.

Good luck :-)

Thank you both. Sorry I did not realise I had posted twice. I am not great with technology so must have done something wrong somewhere. Thanks for fixing it :)

I'm new here as well. I've been dabbling with IF and I'm encouraged when I read of other people's successes. It seems to good to be true, doesn't it?

We can do it...we'll soon be posting losses as well! :victory:

I have never really been keen on special diets and have only tried in the past to cut down. I did lose about 2 1/2 stones 4 years ago as I was going through a stressful time and I seemed to change my diet (eating less carbs and more protein). I was amazed at how my weight changed and I started exercising too. Now due to back problems I cannot go to exercise classes and the weight is slowly creeping back on. I could probably do to loose about 1/2 stone and I hope this will help. I was really interested in the other benefits to health mentioned in the TV programme about this type of diet. I am sure we can do it!

Hi, I've just started too. I have just finished my 3rd fast yesterday and so far so good. I have to admit to being a bit sceptical at first - not so much about the method but more about my ability to manage to work and get through a busy day without eating but I have been impressed with the weight lost achieved by a couple of my work colleagues and they managed to do so thought I'd give it a try. First day was a bit hard but the past 2 have been fine and yesterday was great and I felt full of energy. So good luck to all new 5:2s and if I can do it anyone can!
