Our Frequently Asked Questions topic will answer many of your fasting & weight loss questions!

If you're new and have a question or need some advice, please give us as much information as you can about your situation in order for us to be able to help you as best we can. For example, it's helpful to know your BMI/weight, how much you want to lose, any medical conditions which might affect your weight and (if you've started fasting already) how you do your fasts in terms of splitting up your calories, what you eat etc. Thanks!

2 weeks in..4lb off!
11 Apr 2013, 16:29
So I statred this about 2 weeks ago now - and I weighted myself Tuesday am (after a fast day) and have lost 4lbs and about an inch from my waist!

I haven't been restricting what I eat in the other days either - especially as it was Easter, I have been off work for nearly 2 weeks and had my Mum to stay for a week- so lots of booze, chocolate cake and cheese has been eaten in the last 2 weeks too!!

Not sure if the weight looss is "real" as I don't feel like I've lost 4lb! But hey - it made me feel better and keep going!

Today is my 6th fast day - and I really find it quite easy! The very first day I didn't sleep very well - but since then it has been fine - I can deal with my hunger pangs ok! I'm going to keep going with it and probably keep Monday and wednesday as my typical fast days. As other have said - this is really good/sustainable way of doing a "diet" as it is very flexible - and CHEAP and easy to do!!

Hi. I found your early success so encouraging - especially as you are so new to 5:2. I am even newer. I ordered my books from Amazon and await their arrival so I can join you on the 5:2 journey. My books are due so hopefully I will not be too far behind you in achieving similar success. Wish me luck. Ginge
(P.S. I'm also new to blogs and forums . . . hope I'm doing this right, but I suppose the important thing is if I do the diet right!)

Thanks Allieg. Yes, I've had a really BRILLIANT start! I dropped 3 lbs after my very first fasting day. Couldn't believe it. Whilst I don't expect such a great result after every fasting day - or even every week - I certainly feel encouraged to keep at it. Thanks for your best wishes.
