The FastDay Forum

Introduce Yourself!

Our Frequently Asked Questions topic will answer many of your fasting & weight loss questions!

If you're new and have a question or need some advice, please give us as much information as you can about your situation in order for us to be able to help you as best we can. For example, it's helpful to know your BMI/weight, how much you want to lose, any medical conditions which might affect your weight and (if you've started fasting already) how you do your fasts in terms of splitting up your calories, what you eat etc. Thanks!

Hello!

I've just found this forum and it seems a very active and friendly place! I've been dabbling with IF for a few weeks and not really having any success. I'm just coming to the end of my first week doing a 4:3 plan. I will weigh in on Saturday and see what results, if any, I have gotten this week. I've not been sticking with any one plan longer than a week, and I need to get over that! I've got to stick with this 4:3 and/or 5:2 plan for a few months to give it a fair trial.

I look forward to being inspired by all your successes and hopefully having some success of my own!

Welcome to the forums! :-) There's a post somewhere comparing forumites' experience with 4:3 versus 5:2.

Welcome, Lori!

You don't really have to 'stick' to anything really.

On a fast day eat no more than 500 kcal from waking up until going to sleep. On a non-fast day eat normally - but don't exceed your TDEE.

Do this 2 or 3 times a week, depending on how you feel.

Good luck - not that you'll need it!

Cheers, B&W
