For example, it's helpful to know your BMI/weight, how much you want to lose, any medical conditions which might affect your weight and (if you've started fasting already) how you do your fasts in terms of splitting up your calories, what you eat etc. Thanks!

Just to say hi. I've been reading about the health benefits of the 5:2 Diet so thought I'd give it a go. I've got a fair bit of excess weight to lose and been down the slimming club route so many times it's untrue (I couldn't stick to any of them long term).

I'm a vegetarian bordering on vegan and am hoping soup/fruit and or stir fries will see me through fast days.

I'm attempting my first 500 cal day today, and planning on not eating breakfast until late morning as I find it makes me hungrier if I do eat early. Wish me luck :D

Hi Greycat, I am vegan also. Just starting on the 5:2. Will do my second fast day tomorrow. I work full time and on Tuesday evenings I do three fitness classes in a row in the evening so it will be interesting to see how it goes!
