I've been lurking on these boards for 6 weeks or so, waiting to see if I a) lost weight, or b) lost interest! i've never really been a dieter - probably should have but never could stick with daily calorie restriction and all the counting it entailed, nor could I deal with low carb for very long. But over the years, a few pounds here and there, combined with perimenopause, and well.....
Thus far this WOL seems reasonable, and I look forward to fasting. It's a relief not to have to even think about breakfast or lunch twice a week and planning a 400+ calorie dinner is pretty simple. I've lost, and more importantly, kept off 8 lbs so far, and that's with indulging my sweet tooth on feast days. I don't feel like I'm denying myself and there doesn't seem to be as much opportunity for self-flagellation, which I know leads to failure. I can look at chocolate on a fast day and say, I can eat you tomorrow. And what's even better is the craving will pass by the next day (sometimes!).
Best of all is the support on these boards. Not sure if it's excellent moderating or a very polite and respectful group, or a combination of both, but I look forward to more lurking and possibly participating!
