Just wanted to say hello and share my progress so far. I'm in my third week of 5:2 but have just found this website and delighted to have people to talk to. I doing Mon & Wed fasts and coping ok so far. Lost 4lbs so far but .... put on 3lbs just this weekend during my 'normal' eating days from last Wed. A bit disheartened but back to my fast today (and maybe tomorrow as well if I can manage it, just to give me a kickstart). What do you think? Comments most welcome.

Hi Skinnyminny and welcome to the forums & the 5:2 way of life.

Remember it's important not to compare your weight on a daily basis as it will vary naturally for all kinds of reasons - what you've eaten recently, how much fluid you're retaining, hormones and all sorts. It really is best just to weigh once a week (or less often!), on the same day and around the same time. You'll notice a downward trend in the figures that way. I occasionally hop on the scales mid week out of curiousity and usually find it's up a bit compared with my last weigh-day - but come Friday morning I know the numbers will be lower than the previous week. Magic!

Thanks Moogie, I'll give that a try. I'm a bit obsessive with the scales - a habit I need to break if I'm not to lose heart and give up.
