Introduce Yourself!

Our Frequently Asked Questions topic will answer many of your fasting & weight loss questions!

If you're new and have a question or need some advice, please give us as much information as you can about your situation in order for us to be able to help you as best we can. For example, it's helpful to know your BMI/weight, how much you want to lose, any medical conditions which might affect your weight and (if you've started fasting already) how you do your fasts in terms of splitting up your calories, what you eat etc. Thanks!

Doing it together..
15 Apr 2013, 13:55
Hello, we are Emma and Andy, from Kent.
We are into our 2nd spell of 5:2 fasting and hoping to do a little better than the last. We started this about a year ago and did well for a couple of months until we went on holiday.

While away we didnt do any fast days and then that was it, up until and over xmas. We also used our colorie allowance to 'graze' through the day, which I dont think works nearly as well as having a complete fast period.

So take two.. We are sticking to it this time, we have our holiday booked in June and hope to ride through and come out the other side healthier and, well.. maybe no heavier ?!

We've been going for about 2 weeks now, and also have the support of my mother who's also a keen advocate having lost a little weight and is now on a maintenance 6:1 plan.

Good luck to all..
E&A.

Hi Emma and Andy, welcome to the forum!

How lovely that you're supporting each other with 5:2 - and that you've already got some experience with it which you can learn from. I'm sure it's not easy to fast while on holiday (I'll be finding out in a few weeks when hubby & I go away!), but well done on getting back on the 5:2 wagon again.

If you've got any questions or need a bit of support, just ask - it's what we're here for!

Hi all,
My wife and I started last week after watching the fast diet PBS show in the US. Just joined the forum here today. It is our fast day today also. I find it interesting how we both have totally different choices in getting our 500-600 calories on fast days. We eat different times also.
I did not notice any discussion about cholesterol levels or other lab result changes from being on the 5:2 fast diet. Is it also talked about here in this forum or is there another venue I should also try?
Hope to read encouraging posts here as we check in periodically.
Joe and Phylls
