It's cocoa time! (Fast over)
16 Apr 2013, 01:58
Hello fellow 5:2'ers. I've survived my first fast! So many people mentioned saving some precious cals for a mug of hot chocolate before retiring on a fast day. That's what I'm enjoying now.

The day went pretty well, I think. Lots of tea. I brought some homemade veg broth into work, just in case, and went through about a cup of it and dumped the rest. Just had my tea and water, then the dinner I had already prepared, weighed, and tracked the eve before.

I'm usually a "never-miss-a-meal" type, plus snacks. Plus wine. So I was pretty surprised to basically not die :dazed: or pass out on the subway tracks or other horror scenarios I'd imagined. I was at work, working. I don't think anyone in the office could have told you I hadn't eaten breakfast or lunch. I like that I had a nice din, so won't have that inability to fall asleep due to growling tum.

One down, many to go!
:sleepy:
Well done fitfunk. Enjoy your cocoa.
Yes it is a bit of a shock that we don't all faint from missing a meal or two. Wish I'd learnt this years ago.
Yay, well done on your first fast!
Well done! :like: I think for a lot of us the fast days have been quite a revelation, that you can actually survive a whole day without food! I like how much clearer and more energetic I feel when I'm fasting.
Mmm that sounds good. I will try making some with hemp milk next time around. As for now, it is just a cup of tea to finish off my fasting day...Am all tired out and depressed after seeing the marathon news...
Well done Fitfunk and all other new fasters. It is quite a revelation to get through the first day without any serious effects, isn't it. And it gets easier! What's not to love about this WOE!
