The FastDay Forum

Introduce Yourself!

Our Frequently Asked Questions topic will answer many of your fasting & weight loss questions!

If you're new and have a question or need some advice, please give us as much information as you can about your situation in order for us to be able to help you as best we can. For example, it's helpful to know your BMI/weight, how much you want to lose, any medical conditions which might affect your weight and (if you've started fasting already) how you do your fasts in terms of splitting up your calories, what you eat etc. Thanks!

I hail from North Carolina, USA. I just started the 5:2 eating plan (I prefer to call it an eating plan rather than a diet simply because I don't want to think of it as a diet -which seems temporary - and I'm in for a lifestyle change!) I made it through my first fast day successfully and am looking forward to the support, tips, and recipes this online community offers!

Hi 5:2 ers!

I am new too! This is my third week in and so far so good. I am currently doing 4:3 until my wedding in just under 4 weeks time but then plan to continue with the 5:2 regime and eventually to a maintainance dose of 6:1.

Initially I found fasting to be quite difficult but now I feel like it's quite a natural thing to do. Oxo cubes with 250ml hot water at only 7 calories a cube are fantastic for keeping me going through the day. Has anybody else enjoyed the odd oxo drink?

So far no weight loss but I am optimistic and I am doing this for the health benefits too.

Good luck everyone and stay strong. :victory:
Hello all,

I am new too, had my first fast day yesterday, which was ok! I feel fine today and havent been overly hungry at all!
Am planning to fst from 7pm to 7pm tonight - as that just fits in better socially this week, but will be aiming to do Monday/Thursday.
