If you're new and have a question or need some advice, please give us as much information as you can about your situation in order for us to be able to help you as best we can. For example, it's helpful to know your BMI/weight, how much you want to lose, any medical conditions which might affect your weight and (if you've started fasting already) how you do your fasts in terms of splitting up your calories, what you eat etc. Thanks!

Brand New, Haven't Started Yet

Hello all!

A week or so ago my mother and I were talking on the phone and she told me about Michael Mosley's programs which were recently on American PBS. I went and checked him out online and have decided to start the 5:2 fast.

I'm an American expat living in India, married to an Indian. I've decided I want to do this, but I haven't figured out how to start. I'd love some simple 100 or so calorie ideas. In India, I mainly can get fresh stuff, but not a lot of variety so when I'm typing stuff into google looking for 100 calorie recipes a lot seems beyond my scope, ability, or ken.

I'm hoping to start in the next week, but I definitely want to make sure I have whatever I need for the fast day (food wise) in the house, because I don't want to have to really think much about it when I'm hungry.

Any other tips you want to give a newbie before she starts?
