Introduce Yourself!

Our Frequently Asked Questions topic will answer many of your fasting & weight loss questions!

If you're new and have a question or need some advice, please give us as much information as you can about your situation in order for us to be able to help you as best we can. For example, it's helpful to know your BMI/weight, how much you want to lose, any medical conditions which might affect your weight and (if you've started fasting already) how you do your fasts in terms of splitting up your calories, what you eat etc. Thanks!

First week! new to this

Hi Everyone

Just thought I would introduce myself. New to all this but thought what a great idea!! reducing calories for 2 days! surely that can not work. Well just completed my second fast yesterday and although was really hungry both fast days felt yesterday slightly easier, but the big difference for me this morning is how much energy I seem to have  The day after my first fast I felt really bad sore head, no energy, but last night slept the best for ages and feel really good this morning (long walk with the dog at 8am).

Doing this not to just loose weight but also for health benefits, I have high blood pressure and cholesterol.

Also can I ask when is best time to weigh yourself? I was thinking once per week but what day?. Is it best after a fast day? or does it not really matter. I fast Monday Thursday so was thinking Wednesday morning.

Hello ZD and welcome to the forum. It is amazing how calorie restriction on two days works! Well done on getting through the first two fasts- hopefully you'll continue to feel good after a fast.
There are lots of different ideas about weighing- if you browse the boards or do a search you'll find lots of discussion about this and many other topics.
Consensus sems to be weekly weighing the day after the first eating day after a fast (does that make sense?) , so what you are suggesting fits in with this. It seems to be the consistency is most important- same time, same scales etc. And do put your stats into the tracker, please.
Can I ask if you've had your blood work done? We are a bit short on these ststistics and it would be really useful to add to them if you can, thanks.
Otherwise, good luck with your journey, let us know how you get on and drop in any time.
:)

I weight myself on a Friday morning, which is the day after my last fast day of the week.
