Not as heavy as I thought
20 Apr 2013, 07:51
 Hello all! I am new here and have been trying out 5:2 for a couple of weeks. I finished my 4th fast day yesterday and decided it was time to be brave and see how much I weighed. I was expecting 12 stone (last time I weighed myself I was 11.7 and I have been feeling fatter since) so I was pleased when I got on the scales and found I was 11.2. I have taken my waist and thigh measurements as well. I am going away in May for work and would like to be under 11 for then. I know I should have weighed myself before I started but just couldn't face it. I know 11.2 is not a healthy weight for me but I am keeping my fingers crossed that I will loose 1lb a week in which case I will be 2 stone lighter by my daughters birthday in October.
I have met loads of people on the 5:2, yesterday I met a man who had lost 3 and a half stone since Jan on 5:2. He doesn't eat at all on fast days and is going to the gym regularly, but what a fantastic achievement.
I haven't got to the stage where I am choosing healthy options on feast days and do not expect to loose my taste for chocolate (gave it up for Lent, loved it just as much after) but if I can achieve that 1lb I will be happy :clover:

The good thing with 5:2 is that it doesn't expect you to stop liking things that are, well, likeable and the fact that you can set realistic goals which you can achieve without forgetting how to eat, drink and be merry!!!
