Introduce Yourself!

Our Frequently Asked Questions topic will answer many of your fasting & weight loss questions!

If you're new and have a question or need some advice, please give us as much information as you can about your situation in order for us to be able to help you as best we can. For example, it's helpful to know your BMI/weight, how much you want to lose, any medical conditions which might affect your weight and (if you've started fasting already) how you do your fasts in terms of splitting up your calories, what you eat etc. Thanks!

Hi, I am new and starting the diet today. Today is my first Fasting day and am currently doing ok, although feeling rather sick due to hunger! How do people find the diet? Do you find it works? What techniques do you use to help you fast?

Thanks, Emma x

Hi Emma,
Congratulations on making a start. I am on fast 5, so just 2 weeks ahead of you and 9 pounds lighter!
I have found it very easy, so perhaps I am lucky, but feeling really great after a fast day helps me look forward to the next one. I find keeping very busy helps - I think I would struggle if I had time on my hands on a fast day. Loads of tips on this site - particularly drink when you get hunger pangs.
Best of luck.

Hello Emma and welcome! I have done 4 fasts and am finding 5:2 is a great way of not only planning the fasts around social commitments, but also being able to join in on feast days (apart from my husband no one else knows I am 5:2ing). I drink lots of water anyway, but if you ever feel hungry have a glass of water because you may just be thirsty.
