Reward Schedule?
22 Apr 2013, 19:04
Has anyone set up a reward schedule for themselves for weight loss (or even compliance with fasting?) I was considering spending some money on a few new summer items if I hit a certain weight by June 1...but then I wonder if that's silly as I will (hopefully) be too slim for those clothes by end of summer.

I also considered a pedicure or something for every 5 lbs lost...but that might get boring fast.

Any other ideas for (non food) rewards for hitting milestones? Anyone else considering this?

I do think it's important to reward yourself. Other ideas might be a new cookbook or really any indulgence. You likely won't grow out of new shoes either :-)

I bought a couple of cheap things from Primark and it did the trick. Getting into smaller sizes does wonders for a girl, and chap, so bring on the little treats it really does motivate you,

How about a manicure or other beauty treatment? I like the idea of accessories as suggested by Victoria.

I like the sound of this, but I've not done anything!! I've lost 3.5 stone so far but only bought myself the bare essentials - still got another 2 stone to go and when I get nearer the next size down I think it'll be more realistic to go on a spending spree - and that I DO plan on doing  Will be interested in what others are doing/planning on doing.

I think having a reward system is a good thing, and works well for me, especially as I have a long way to go.

I have 5 stone to lose in total, so I decided to have a reward at each stone lost. Every reward would increase with each stone. I decided against clothes as I couldn't see the point if weight loss was going to contine and I also hate shopping. I will only buy clothes out of necessity, but I know others love to clothes shop. Food rewards are obviously out as well.

On Friday I had a day at a spa for reaching the 2 stone mark. Other rewards lined up are visit to London to see a show and a designer handbag I've wanted for some time. They are all a bit extravagant but I'm saving money I would have spent on food, takeaways etc to help toward the cost (this equates to about £20 per week - I was horrified when I first totted that up!). The space between each reward can be quite long, but its a good extra incentive for me.

My reward will be the feeling of heaven when I wear my size 8 skinny jeans and go for a drink and my friends will tell me how good I look. I really don't need anything else reward-wise.
