Introduce Yourself!

Our Frequently Asked Questions topic will answer many of your fasting & weight loss questions!

If you're new and have a question or need some advice, please give us as much information as you can about your situation in order for us to be able to help you as best we can. For example, it's helpful to know your BMI/weight, how much you want to lose, any medical conditions which might affect your weight and (if you've started fasting already) how you do your fasts in terms of splitting up your calories, what you eat etc. Thanks!

I'm posting this on here because I don't know how to post new topics on the other forums! (?). So thats my first question, my other questions are has anyone tried the shiritaki(???????) noodles, and miso soup? x
Yes to shiritaki noodles, they're expensive for what they are but they really do help to bulk up a meal. They're becoming a fast day favourite for me. I have them in stir fry, with chilli, or as a pasta substitute.
Hi biscuitslayer, to answer your first question, why would they make it easy?

You need to click on 'Home' which shows a list of all the forums (or boards I forget the nomenclature), then click on the one you want, then on the next page just under the forum/board name you will see a button to start a new post...

Oh and I have had miso soup on its own on a fast day. It's fine, quite salty and sea-ish which is just what miso soup tastes like. Might be even nicer with those low-cal noodles, but I haven't tried them.

If you are ever in Schiphol Airport (Amsterdam) I recommend the Japanese noodle bar there! (sorry off topic I know)
Yes I've tried the slim noodles (got them from Holland and Barrett). They're....OK. I'm not rushing to have them again, but they are good for bulking out a stirfry, and are quite tasty in a Tom Yum soup.

Miso soup - I love this for lunch on a fast day. There's a wide range of sachets available, with calorie contents from 15-50 each. I find them in the Japenese foods section of Tesco, or else in health food shops.
