Hi

Just a quick hello, I am fed up of fad diets so hoping this as a lifestyle change will be much more beneficial and helpful.

I work nights so find normal diets and weigh-ins can be hard to do!

Hi

I bought the book after hearing Michael on Radio 2, only started to read it at work tonight, then gone onto the main website, then found the forum, I had my sandwiches at half 12 so looking at going home at 7.30am, walking dogs and going to bed, getting up about 4, having some porridge and then back to work again for 7pm! Thinking soup for supper at work and a small tin of peaches in juice, that'll be about midnight again, then perhaps breakfast of porridge when I get home and a small tea when I get up again Tue pm! That's the plan anyway. So that I have done my 2 together, and will do same each week, so much easier to fast when you are in bed asleep!

Hi, Thought I would start with a bit of background about why I'm doing this new way of trying to lose weight! I'm a tall woman witha small frame & was always slim or very slim naturally. I'm an active person & even after child birth managed to revert to my usually stable weight without too much effort (lucky).I'm a bit of a worier so I think that keeps the weight away. If ever I felt a bit podgy I always just watched what I ate & went on few more walks/bike ridea & within a couple of weeks the few pounds would be gone, great.I thought the dreaded middle age spread would never hapen to me.........
Not true, I'm now slowly gaining weight & over the last year 10lb have creapt on. Parltly due to looking after my partners family ie cooking a lot of cake & eating it,working longer hours now so not able to walk except at weekends & so on. I've always had a good appetite but I wouldn't consider that I eat a great deal on a day to day basis, I only eat when I'm hungry & as I have stomach problems huge meals are ou tas I suffer afterwards. If I go too long without eating I get the shakes so I make sure to eat 3 meals a day. When I saw this diet I thought I wouldn't be able to do it ( because of getting shakey) but the science makes sense so I decided to give it a go. The first week 3lb came off, I was elated & any discomfort would be worth it as I can eat the next day. However, it went back on! this will be my 3rd week & so far I lose 2lb after the 2 fast days (not consecutive) & then it's back on so 3 weeks in & I weigh the same, very disappointed & don't understand. I stick to 500 on fast days. Any one else? I hope this week willbe different. Good luck all!
