Starting 5-2 tomorrow
04 Feb 2013, 04:49
Hi. I am quite excited because I am starting on my first fast day tomorrow. I was just wondering if it is necessary to eat the whole 500 calories? Would weight be lost quicker if you ate less than this, or indeed completely fasted with just drinking plenty of fluids?

Hi, that was exactly my first question too! And yes, full fasting is perfectly fine, it's just considered more difficult so isn't being advocated. Some of us find having nothing at all is easier than stopping at just a little... I'm doing nearly a full fast (well, only started last week, so no long experience here!) but with the leeway of eacing token amounts in the evening with the family in order to stay undercover.

Thanks Emm. You are a week ahead of me. I think I would best just doing the full on fast all day but may just have veggies or salad in the evening. Good luck with your progress! I am also going to do the fast days on Tuesday and Thursdays
