For example, it's helpful to know your BMI/weight, how much you want to lose, any medical conditions which might affect your weight and (if you've started fasting already) how you do your fasts in terms of splitting up your calories, what you eat etc. Thanks!

Hi, I'm new to the forum and am 2 weeks into the 5:2. Found this forum by chance and so glad I did :D :D Bit disappointed to lose only 1.5lb in 2 weeks so this forum may be just the inspiration I need.

Welcome!!

Look at it this way -- if you lose weight too fast, and have a lot to lose, you're going to get excess sagging skin. I'm down 3.5 pounds in 4 weeks, and I'm quite pleased with that result, because this has been such an interesting journey. I feel like I understand my body so much better, and I learned that I had no idea what hunger was! So welcome, dive in, and I hope you find some great stuff here :-)

I'm trying to resist the urge to weigh myself all the time! I don't have much weight to lose - 10lb by August for my summer hols! Not sure if this is doable but I'm giving it my best shot. Trouble is we're off to Paris in a couple of weeks for a long weekend with another couple and was hoping to lose 4lb in total to get to 10st by then! Can't be in Paris and not eat!!
I'm excited about this eating plan, the only downside is that I never thought about food much before and now its all I think about!! Not healthy I'm sure! Fingers crossed eh?
