Introduce Yourself!

Our Frequently Asked Questions topic will answer many of your fasting & weight loss questions!

If you're new and have a question or need some advice, please give us as much information as you can about your situation in order for us to be able to help you as best we can. For example, it's helpful to know your BMI/weight, how much you want to lose, any medical conditions which might affect your weight and (if you've started fasting already) how you do your fasts in terms of splitting up your calories, what you eat etc. Thanks!

Hello, I have bought the book on my kindle this morning and today is my first fast day. Not really sure what I'm going to eat on fast days yet but given my BMI is 29 I know I have to take action, it's going to take a while. Feeling inspired, joined the blog in the hope there will be others to encourage me.

Does this really work?

Ellie
Hi Ellie

I am not far ahead of you so can't answer your last question but I do hope so! Good Luck! I am on my second fast day today.

Anne
Yes it does work. I lost a stone between September and Christmas, and have lost a further 5lb since Christmas. To be honest I have never felt better. I'm bright eyed and bushy tailed and full of life - long may it continue. Even if I lose no more weight I am carrying on just because of the way it makes me feel.
Thank you both, I've 2 1/2 stone to loose. Feeling positive after reading the book and forum.

Wow, thanks Frenchfancy... that is so encouraging! Like Ellie, I am feeling very positive about this.

As you can see from the stats under my picture on the left hand side, as of my last weigh-in on Saturday, I've lost 12.1kg since late September. That's about a pound and a half shy of two stone.
Hi!
I'm also starting out today. I had a breakfast at about 6.30 this morning and I'm about to go an have my tea. I started feeling hungry at about 10ish, which is normally mid morning snack time for me but I haven't eaten anything. I've been mildly hungry all day but I'm sure it's really psychology. In fact I was sort of hungry last night and I'm sure it's really just a battle between my brain and my tummy. I've also spent most of the day feeling a little light headed, but no headaches and I've been drinking water for most of the day, so that's been making me feel better. Right, better go and get some milk so I can have a normal breakfast tomorrow and then to cook some lovely veggies. :) Hope everyone's had a good day no matter feasting or fasting.
Yeah, finished 1st day. The evening is when the hunger feelings peaked, but I've done it. Watched the original horizon and that helped.
Welcome! I think for me, it's definitely easier to skip breakfast. For some reason, eating really does seem to make me hungrier. Plus it's easier to divide the calories into two meals than three ;-)
