First Day of Fasting
05 Feb 2013, 20:15
Hi,

My name is Carolyn and I have dabbling in this diet for a while but not really counted the calories.

Me and my husband bought the book and decided to have a proper go. We picked Mon 4th Feb and worked out our calories and what we could eat. He chose to eat lunch and dinner and I chose to eat breakfast and lunch. All worked fine, although he felt extra hungry during Tuesday. I woke up Tuesday morning and felt sick as I had not eaten since 1.30pm the previous day. I made myself eat a normal breakfast and then I was back to normal.

Will this sick feeling pass, or should I also do lunch and dinner or breakfast and dinner.

I think this is a great idea though and look forward to participating in the forum :)

Hi Carolyn-I think you just have to experiment and see what works best for you. I used to eat breakfast and tea but now I eat all my calories at teatime and find this is easier. Make sure you drink plenty of water and/or calorie free fluids through the day too. Good luck!

Thanks :)
I also found I had a headache in the evening and I thought I had drunk loads of water - lol maybe not enough though.

Hi Carolyn! :)

Lots of people save all their calories for dinner in the evening, but you need to experiment and find what works for you. Some people have also reported headaches in the evenings of their first few fast days, but these seem to tail off as the body adjusts to fasting.

Hope you find a way that works for you. :)

That's interesting... maybe it's because I had hardly any sugar. Might try the WW hot chocolate idea :)

I drank herbal tea, water and a low calorie smoothie (home made)
