For example, it's helpful to know your BMI/weight, how much you want to lose, any medical conditions which might affect your weight and (if you've started fasting already) how you do your fasts in terms of splitting up your calories, what you eat etc. Thanks!

Hi all, I started my 5:2 experiment last Sunday, 3rd Feb 13, the day after I bought the book and my wife is joining in tentatively on a 6:1 schedule. So far I love it! Neither of us is conventionally overweight (I was 10st 4lbs last summer, for 5' 10" height, so BMI sub-21) but the dark months and Xmas excesses meant I had gained half a stone of obviously unnecessary fat and more worryingly my aches & stiffness from 62-year-old hip joints had become very worrying. I am following the Fast diet mainly to see if it will control the inflammation that leads to stiffness & pain, and so far it looks as though it will (and I have already lost 3 pounds!). I keep active by jogging, biking & rock climbing occasionally, and do parkrun most Saturdays. Would be interested to know about other parkrunner's experiences (improvements in performance etc.)
