hi I'm new to 5:2. I have been reading the book over the weekend and decided to give fasting a try on Monday. I have a bmi of 26 and have had trouble shifting baby weight. I've had some success with weight watchers in the past but nothing long term. I'm hoping this will work for me because every weekend I spend with family and I find thm always 'bad' on these days and feel like I've undone all my hard work done during the week. my only worry is that I am studying from home and I may find that hunger makes it hard to concentration. has anyone else had experiece studying while fasting?

Hi Gracie,

Welcome, 5:2 is great because you can be bad at the weekend! A lot of folk say you should fast on busy working days as it keeps your mind of things but I haven't had a problem with that. I work every second Monday, fasting every Monday. I find I get my housework done quicker leaving me to my hobbies -cardmaking, which I seam to have more concentration for. Many people feel there concentration is sharpened by fasting. I manage to resist the Mars bars in the cupboard by reminding myself that fasting is only for today and I can do what I like tomorrow. I also have a glass of water in the lounge and one in the kitchen and another in the back room where I craft so that if I do get distracted they are at hand.
