first day on 5:2

Hello everyone,
Having found this diet on the internet I did a bit of research and brought the book and decided to try it. Its my first fast day today had something about 2ish feeling hungry now as OH is cooking his tea. I have another meal planned but trying to control hunger first drinking lots of water. How is everyone else doing on there fast day? Has anyone had good weight loss without doing exercise as for medical reasons I can not exercise.

Hi Paige & welcome :)

Well done on your first fast, lots of water really does help!
Many of us started out with lunch & dinner but with time have found it easier to save all our cals for dinner. I found myself ravenous as soon as I ate anything on my fast day otherwise!

I abhor exercise and do as little as possible! I have a desk job, working from home so don't even need to get up and go out most days! That said I do go down to the Co-op every other day or so which is a 10 min brisk walk both ways. That's about all my exercise other than housework.

Since starting 5:2 in August I haven't adjusted my activity level at all and have lost 15.5kg :) Actually last week I tried doing 20 mins of stepping each day to see if it would boost my loss and actually lost nothing that week. This week I did no stepping and lost half a kilo!
