For example, it's helpful to know your BMI/weight, how much you want to lose, any medical conditions which might affect your weight and (if you've started fasting already) how you do your fasts in terms of splitting up your calories, what you eat etc. Thanks!

Just Bought the Book!

Hi All, I've just bought the book and have to say I've found it compelling reading! I want to finish reading the book before I embark on this journey to shed the excess pounds, but more importantly to improve my health! I've tried the usual diets in the past and they have worked to a point but when normality kicks in again, the weight reappears and more!! Hopefully, this seems to be more of a way of life, any tips for a newbie?! :D

The whole forum has tons of tips - I hope you take a look.

My biggest tip is don't worry! I was rather scared of fasting and I had no idea what to expect. I was afraid of going faint etc etc. All of those fears were unfounded. I've since learned that fasting is just no big deal at all.

Thanks for the reply Tracieknits! As it happens I have just completed my first fast day today!! I didn't intend on it, but after having a manic rush this morning with getting children to school I found I had actually skipped breakfast!! So I thought 'why not'!! As it turns out I didn't find it that bad, like you said I was worried about feeling faint & constantly thinking of every type of food but it soon passed, thankfully!!
Here's to a healthier way of life!!
