Hi everyone,
I have enjoyed reading lots of your posts. It made me feel less of a freak reading how many of you, like me, have struggled for years with food issues.
I am not overweight as such but like to keep myself very fit. The trouble I have had in the past is the feelings of guilt after eating fattening foods. Then I would spend too long in the gym trying to burn it all off! I now feel a release on this diet as I can actually allow myself previously forbidden food. I am amazed in just 4 weeks how the excess fat has dropped off. I am probably near my target weight and hope that I can keep going in the future with the 6:1 diet. Another reason I liked the sound of the 5:2 is all the other benefits, especially the lowering of cholesterol. I have a bad family history of high cholesterol and can't wait to get it checked in a couple of months. Has anyone else out there lowered their cholesterol? Any feedback would be great thanks!
OMG!! Another Moogie?
In all my life I've only met one other Moogie - are you her?!

Just had to say hello since we share a name :) Can't really advise re cholesterol as I've not had any tests since starting 5:2. I wonder if my GP would do some as he did a huge range of tests last summer when I wasn't quite right (thought it might be thyroid or diabetes, turned out to be a virus). I hadn't even heard of 5:2 then.

Anyhoo, well done on your weight loss, and welcome indeed fellow Moog!
Hi Moogie,
I did smile when I saw another Moogie and yes I have only met one other.. Could that be you?!!
Thanks for your message; that sounded like a nasty virus you had last year. I will post my feedback regarding the cholesterol test when I have one. In the meantime happy 5:2!
Moogie
This is so bizarre, I'm not used to being around other Moogies, lol.

Perhaps we are each other's 'other Moogie'! Named for the synthesizer, you're a big fan of Feeder and have a relative named Tamsin (I want to say you're Tamsin's sister, but it's been a long time and I forget the relationship). Am I right?
Sorry to deflate any excitement, that's not me! There are more Moogies out there than we think!
I've just read your post on skin improving; that's something I am hoping for also.
Are you sure you're not both just a couple of 'Trekkies' and named after the 'DS9' character?
"Skin improving"

Here's the before then...

Ishka, daughter of Adred (nicknamed Moogie) was the mother of Quark and Rom
My name is a rather strange derivative of my real name, rather than being named after the shameful clothes-wearing Ishka! I do have the lobes to be a Ferengi tho ;)

And we prefer the term 'Trekker' :)

Moogie - aw, such a shame you're not my other Moogie.
Will you be my new other Moogie?! :)

Actually, straining my old grey matter I do recall way back at Senior school meeting another girl who was called Moogie... I don't suppose you grew up in Weymouth did you?!
Wow if that is how bad my skin could have got had I not started the 5:2 all I can say is I had better keep going!
And no I am from East Sussex so I will gladly accept your offer of new other Moogie!
This will make you laugh, I got my nickname from the children' s tv programme Wilo the Wisp!!
Can't remember if it was the dog!
I think you're right, it was the dog!
Now I'm not sure how I feel about the name I've been using for the last 17 years... I'm very much a cat person!
I too am much more of a cat person but the dog is great for the excercise!
Oops I mean exercise!

Thanks Jemima it's all coming back to me now..how funny!
Hope your diet is going well. I'm still feeling great. I get the feeling this one isn't going to be another yoyo. Fingers crossed.
