Newbie!

Hi

I have been doing the 5:2 diet for what I thought was two weeks but turns out I was doing it the "easy" way (dinner to dinner 24hour fast) rather than the regular way most people are doing it, so I guess you could say this is my first day doing it the "normal" way! No wonder I didn't lose any weight at all!

Hoping to drop 15-20kg (12 of which were gained in the last year and a half)!

Hi huggy, welcome to the forums :)

It's great that you've decided to try the 'original' 5:2 method, but a shame that the 'easy' way didn't work for you. I've been doing the original method for about 6 months now and have lost 15.5kg, most of which I also gained in the space of just over a year. Got married in April '11, piled on weight until last summer, tried to shift it and failed with my usual methods, only to find 5:2 and be saved. I'm now less than I weighed when I got married and on my way back to 'moving in weight' - another 5kg or so to go.

It's really great being able to lose the weight in less time than it took to gain it in the first place and I really hope it works for you too!

Hi Moogie!

That's fantastic that you lost so much weight and in only 6 months! hopefully I can follow in your footsteps!

I started to pile on the weight when I moved home and was reintroduced to my mother's lovely yet very rich cooking! I'm also in my final year in college which is notorious for weight gain so trying to fight against that also.

Iv always been on the upper end of normal to overweight for my height despite that fact I don't have a great love of food! I seem to get by quite easily on little food but pile on the weight when I do eat. So fast days haven't been very difficult so far, even managed to get my two hour weightlifting session in yesterday no problems!

Hopefully with Lent starting tomorrow it will give me a kick start with weight loss cutting back on treats!

Doing my next fast day tomorrow, will need it after the pancakes today!

Huggyk
