Hi all, I'm in my 2nd week of fasting now, but basically I needed some advice on what to drink, the main suggestions I've seen are water, tea and coffee.
The problem is, I hate all three with a fiery passion.
Tea and coffee I find truly repulsive and water by itself makes me gag because it has no taste.
I tried adding in some lemon juice last week to water but it barely added anything to the taste.
I could really use some help as I'm kind of stuck, the no eating is fine, not having problems with that, it's just the drinking.
I find Pellegrino and a slice of lemon or lime is delicious
What do you normally drink on a non-fast day? Maybe you could add a dash of sugar-free squash (circa 10 calories)? If it makes your fast days more pleasant then it might be worth it!
Now I know some people disapprove, but what about fizzy diet drinks? See the diet coke thread. I normally have a diet tonic before dinner on a fast day - I have to skip the gin unfortunately :) .

If it gets you through the day, that's the main thing...
I take it you're referring to black tea, but what about herbal infusions/teas? I've found I really like peppermint, and you can get various fruit ones, too...
Thank you all for your advice, it was most helpful, I think I'll try the dash of squash method as I do not mind it and I don't mind using up calories on it as most days I don't tend to use up my 600 calories anyway, so I have some spare.
I'll also try the herbal teas as well, I've tried some but not found one I've liked yet, but will look when I go shopping this week for more fruity ones.
I drink vitamin water. It's flavoured ( all different ones including, black current & goji berry, elderflower & pear, mango & ginger) Its sweetened with stevia which is a natural sweetener, so no aspartamine. It ( stating the obvious!) has different added vitamins depending on the flavour so I like to think I'm getting extra goodness! I can't bear just drinking plain water and no matter how many times I try herbal tea, I just don't like it. A good hot drink for 20kcal is bovril. Definitely keeps the hunger a bay! Hope this helps
