For example, it's helpful to know your BMI/weight, how much you want to lose, any medical conditions which might affect your weight and (if you've started fasting already) how you do your fasts in terms of splitting up your calories, what you eat etc. Thanks!

Hi, all, from a very cold Coventry, UK.

We watched the programme last year, and I flirted (briefly) with a couple of days fasting, but I'm the sort of guy who needs a bit more structure and a DIY diet plan didn't give that.

A couple of weeks ago, my wife bought us the fast diet book, and we agreed to give it a go.

After the third fast day everything seems OK, although I'm a bit disappointed that I've only lost one pound so far. I'm not disheartened though, and I have every intention of sticking with it.

Looking forward to there being significantly less of me...

If you're concerned you're not losing as much as you feel yuo should it can also be a good idea to measure your waist as some people find initially they lose more inches than lbs :)

By all means tell us a bit more about your situation (weight, BMI range, how much you want to lose etc) and how you fast (how you split cals, when you eat, what you eat etc) and we'll try to offer some advice & tips.

Thanks for the encouragement.

I'm more disappointed than concerned. The weight is coming off slowly, and as others have said, it took years to put it on, so what's a few weeks?

I'm in this for the long haul.
