Help us to help you! Please give us as much information as you can about your situation in order for us to be able to help you as best we can. For example, it's helpful to know your BMI/weight, how much you want to lose, any medical conditions which might affect your weight and (if you've started fasting already) how you do your fasts in terms of splitting up your calories, what you eat etc. Thanks!
Remember, we're not here to judge, we're here to help.
The general consensus is that you're better eating to your TDEE than going under it (plug your details into the Forum's tracker and it will work your TDEE out for you - but remember it is only a guide). Have patience - contrary to the name, this diet is slow *not* fast! But you will get there.
The FAQ bubbles at the top of the screen are a good place to start if you're looking for help - there's more than a years worth of accumulated questions, answers and wisdom here so you should be able to find what you're wanting to know! Cheers, FatDog.
FatDog is right - it is better to eat to your TDEE on non fasting days - otherwise I think it becomes just another diet that people struggle to stick to and there's some thinking that continually restricting your intake slows down weight loss. I think one of the biggest reasons people are able to stick to this is that there may be days when you eat very little but there are the compensations of being able to eat 'what you like' - (but as in 'whatever takes your fancy' not 'however much you like'!)on the other days. It (for me) has stopped me feeling like I'm depriving myself of all the things I love. And I love food! Good luck
Enjoy and good luck.
This week though I find I am struggling to know what days to fast as things going on, today I am out socialising and there will be tea and cakes, hard to resist. Though maybe tomorrow I can as visiting a friend and hopefully dog walking, Though no lunch planned as yet.
I am still determined though and will keep to it.
Good luck everyone.
Also if you do find yourself missing a fast one week don't fret (that will discourage weight loss) but do what you can when you can without falling off the wagon. This is meant to work with your way of life not you to fit to it. If you can't do a full fast you could maybe do an "eating window day". When visiting your friend only eat whilst you are there, or just eat within a set time limit for the day (like the 16:8). These, and more, are all strategies we use and can be found by looking around the site.
