Not losing weight?

Help us to help you! Please give us as much information as you can about your situation in order for us to be able to help you as best we can. For example, it's helpful to know your BMI/weight, how much you want to lose, any medical conditions which might affect your weight and (if you've started fasting already) how you do your fasts in terms of splitting up your calories, what you eat etc. Thanks!

Plateau indeed...
24 Jul 2013, 17:41
Hi

I'm stuck at about 13'7 stone.

I noticed this a few years ago when (at that time ) I was trying to walk it off...... I just couldn't shift it under high 13s.

Well, I fasted yesterday straight after work and I've run it into today as well. I doubt I shall continue tomorrow as It's getting a bit much.

We'll see now whether fasting can succeed where excercise didn't a few years ago. (I'm not using alcohol now  )

:starving:

Hi David,

How long have you been stuck? Take heart that others on here have persevered through eight week plateaus only to start losing again when they least expected.

I think this WOE is much easier on us who don't partake of alcohol...much easier to stay at the TDEE on feast days.

About a week +....

I lost a week as I thought I was getting a cold.

Don't worry, I think it's moving now. I've scared it into submission!!

Yes, over-doing it on free days seems silly to me but weh hey.

Hi David,

I am one of the two month plateau-ers on here so don't give up, it will kick in again, honest. I found that the key was to not jack it in no matter how down I seemed about no loss. I am now under target and maintaining easily so, go for it and good luck

Don't you worry, giving up isn't an option.

I'm completely hacked off with it now, stomachs griping like hell but nothing till morning.

That's two days so I ve had enough for this break.

Good result though I think.

Thanks.

 I've failed to fast today 'cos the plateau is TOO LONG now and I'm hacked off with it. My body is sticking it's tongue out at me and blowing a raspberry (blimey, the imagery of THAT) and so I need to show it who's boss.
Dithering about Thursdays' fast too.
A change is as good as a rest, right?

I feel like I'm plateau-ing a bit, too. It's been a bit up and down lately, with maybe a slight downward trend. I'm trying not to worry. I've been doing alot of running, so it could be water retention for muscle repair, but I can't keep using that excuse forever! I might go back to keeping my food diary. Since I've lost 15kg, my TDEE has surely gone done quite a bit. I haven't been counting cals at all on non-fast days; hopefully just the diary will be enough...

Toying with fasting today as I ended up eating 1600 calories yesterday :0@
So far a cup of lemon and ginger tea while my head soaks up coconut oil. My brain keeps shouting YOU DIDN'T FAST ON MONDAY, YOU'LL DIE! Could this be why I'm not losing weight, I've become fixated on fasting?
Perhaps I should stop fasting and calorie counting for a month to shake that off.
Bleurgh.
Sorry to ramble on your thread DavidF.

Ramble away!!!

Come on guys keep it going.

I ve just come out of a 4 day shift and I've started a fast this evening and I'll run it into tomorrow. I've booked the next(night) shift off so how I work this I don't know.

I'm roughly (hovering)between 13.7 and 14 stone dead. I haven't acheived much through this shift because as usual it was a rubbish shift and my will-power wasn't good.

Speaking for myself only, of course, I do zero when it's hot and need correspondingly few calories.

I haven't lost much for a week or so.
