Uses the Katch-McArdle formula, which requires that you enter body fat %. This one doesn't get carried away with large people.

For a review of BMR estimates in general see this paper which picks holes in many of the statistics used in the past, not least because they are full of Italian fascist conscripts :-)

In the "tools" sticky is a body fat method, or see http://www.fat2fitradio.com/tools/ for some options

For a quick and dirty estimate of your body fat use some maths :-

200 lb woman, would expect to be 120 lbs if lean (20% body fat) so lean body mass of lean twin is 96 lbs. Fat mass therefore (200 - 96) = 104 lbs divide by 200 lbs = 52%

180 lb man, would expect to be 150 lbs lean at 10% body fat so lean body mass of lean twin is 135 lbs. Fat mass therefore (180 - 135) = 45 lbs divide 180 lbs = 25%
