Just a summary of my experience over one year. I realise 5.2 doesn't work for everyone but I really think this works for me, I have lost about 12 pounds - not a huge amount but apparently I look slimmer and fitter. I feel well and my BP is down as well as my BMI and my fat ratio. I am really into the swing of the regime now and I think it is very important to eat properly on the non fasting days. If I deny myself anything then I feel deprived and get bored or down and then fasting is hard work. I think I could lose more weight and keep it off more effectively if I did alternate day fasting or added an extra day per week, I may try this soon, but at the moment it is hard to get two fasting days into my week. This is not a diet it is my new lifestyle and I intend to keep it up as long as possible.
Sounds good to me knute! It is not a race so keeping up the progress long term is what counts!
Hi Knute,
Well, you have lost almost one stone and that is not insignificant in anyone's book. Yes, it has been slow, but you still did it and this time next year you should be two stone lighter and how good will that feel? Good luck and keep posting, you are doing VERY well,

Hi Knute,
Congratulations on your weight loss and for sticking with 5:2
As you say, it's a lifestyle not a quick fix diet fad.
But it's really encouraging to hear from people who have been living this WOL for a year and longer.
Keep up the good work

Thank you Knute. You are a pioneer and I really appreciate that others have paved the way. It's wonderful to know that you have made this a sustainable part of your life style and I absolutely agree with you about the importance of not feeling deprived. I love food and it is one of the great joys of life. This is the WOE for me. And your post makes me know that I can keep doing it and keep slowly losing weight.
Wow 12 months, good on you and thanks for posting. I agree you need to not feel deprived as it is counterproductive and also that it is a way of life. Keep in touch
