Hi everyone, new to these boards but not new to losing weight unfortunately. I am 43, married and female with two teenage children. I have done slimming world several times, lost 2 stone doing it at home on my own the last time but found it so hard having to watch everything I put in my mouth and I have such a long journey that it seemed too hard.

It was my first fast day yesterday and I weighed myself in Tesco on their electronic scales that gives you a little printout. Shockingly I am 20 stone 8.5lbs which is a little more than I thought I would be. Unfortunately the machine also said I am 6ft 2, which is wrong as I am 5ft 10.5 so not sure I have faith now. Will use that machine next time and see what happens. I would like to get down to 13 stone which is towards the upper end recommended for my height.

I would have managed ok on my first fast except for the excruciating headache that came and went throughout the day. It got so bad I went to bed really early and woke in the night with it, almost like a hangover. After logging on to a FB group I realised it could be caffeine withdrawal as I usually drink loads of coffee but had none yesterday! I drank loads of peppermint tea and water, so not dehydrated.

Tomorrow is my next fast day, I will drink some coffee in between the peppermint teas and see how that goes. Really want to wait until about 2pm to have some WW soup at 50 cals, then dinner about 6pm will probably be an M&S meal that I need to get tomorrow. Must get more organised. Got some jelly in the fridge to snack on if needed.

I will up date now and again, hopefully with weigh loss results. Good luck to all x

You sound very motivated.

I don't think there's a problem drinking coffee with this diet as long as you can manage it black. To keep the calories down. I'm a convert I always said I couldn't drink it black but it's fine. I'd rather save my calories for something I can chew!

Sundance - It probably was the caffeine withdrawal. Interestingly enough caffeine is used to treat head trauma and it can help with migraine (although, conversely, it can also be a trigger). I hope tomorrow works out better for you.
