Should I be disappointed?
14 Mar 2013, 08:04
I have just weighed myself after my 7th week doing 5:2 and for the 3rd week running I have stayed the same weight. I have lost 5lbs and am 1lb away from my goal weight, so I am very happy about that but I do feel frustrated about that last pound!
I have been going a bit mad with food at the weekend but I have stepped up the amount of exercise I'm doing. I think I will eat a bit less crap at the weekend and see what happens.
Inch loss has stayed the same as well, so I am literally no different size wise.
I know I'm getting hung up about a number on a scale and I hate that, maybe I should hide the scales for a few weeks and not stress about it.

I think we just have to ride through these spells.
I think you'll find that most people seem to have spells where the scales don't shift.
You've done really well, and with only 1lb to go....fantastic.
Stick with it the way you have been and it will soon be gone.

Just keep going. I've read so many posts like yours and then suddenly a weight loss! It sounds like you already know that the problem is the weekend. I too don't see any loss off my waist but I have lost over a stone so it must be coming off somewhere - my back I suspect. Don't give up, just be patient.

Don't forget also, if you are exercises more and building muscle, you will still be losing fat but the scales might not show much weight loss :)

I have experienced this so many times when dieting then upping exercise. Sophie is right, the muscle will weigh more than fat. I invested in some fat% scales partly for that reason as I do find it disheartening. Apparently the more muscle you have the more calories you burn eventually. Make sure you take some measurements in cms too, you might find you are getting smaller without weight loss. Stick with it, you are almost there!
Very well done you!
