I've lost 12lbs and 4 inches off my waist which may sound slow progress but for me it is amazing. This is the first real diet I've done as I've never had the willpower before - calorie counting and only eating certain foods seemed too boring. But I read the RT pullout in January and knew this was something I could do.
I don't have a huge amount to lose but I had almost reached an 'overweight' BMI and being short, the extra weight really shows. I felt frumpy and faced going up a dress size which was quite depressing. I'm not a big overeater, but snacks - biscuits, cakes and chocolate - are my downfall and have led to a slow creep of weight over the last 20 years.
I've lost more or less 1lb a week, though I had Easter off so didn't lose anything for 2 weeks then.
My husband (not known for his observation) said yesterday that he can see it in my face. I have loads more energy, my skin looks better, I'm snoring a lot less (a family trait) but the main thing is MY TROUSERS NO LONGER FIT! Major shopping will be needed for the summer as I'm heading DOWN a dress size. Three months ago I would never have believed that possible. I'm no longer dread putting on my swim suit for our holiday later this year.
Thank you to Dr M for inspiring us and thanks to everyone on this forum for such great information and support.
