12 Weeks in and I feel great!
21 Apr 2013, 17:04
Just finishing my 12th week of 5:2 and wanted to say how good if feels.

I've lost 12lbs and 4 inches off my waist which may sound slow progress but for me it is amazing. This is the first real diet I've done as I've never had the willpower before - calorie counting and only eating certain foods seemed too boring. But I read the RT pullout in January and knew this was something I could do.

I don't have a huge amount to lose but I had almost reached an 'overweight' BMI and being short, the extra weight really shows. I felt frumpy and faced going up a dress size which was quite depressing. I'm not a big overeater, but snacks - biscuits, cakes and chocolate - are my downfall and have led to a slow creep of weight over the last 20 years.

I've lost more or less 1lb a week, though I had Easter off so didn't lose anything for 2 weeks then.

My husband (not known for his observation) said yesterday that he can see it in my face. I have loads more energy, my skin looks better, I'm snoring a lot less (a family trait) but the main thing is MY TROUSERS NO LONGER FIT! Major shopping will be needed for the summer as I'm heading DOWN a dress size. Three months ago I would never have believed that possible. I'm no longer dread putting on my swim suit for our holiday later this year.

Thank you to Dr M for inspiring us and thanks to everyone on this forum for such great information and support.
Fantastic achievement! Sometimes I think I will wake up and find this has all been dream, all of us losing weight, feeling and looking better and, hopefully, healthier into the bargain.

Keep going and keep posting,

Well done. Like you I am now 12 weeks in. Just gone into normal bmi this morning, so one happy lady. I feel like a totally different person, have more energy and a total new relationship with food. When i get invited out for a meal, I don't panic like I used to (thinking how many syns have I got left), if I go over my cals on a fast day I don't think that i have blown it and then go on to binge. Love this way of life. Bring on the next 3 months.....
Well done!
I relate to your feelings and like you am so happy to lose at a rate of a pound a week as this time I know I'll keep it off!
Happy shopping!
YAY! well done to all. Love hearing the successes. Hope you've all put your losses into the tracker too- watch the graph go down! :D
So nice to read stories like these, well done silverbelle! :like:
