My progress after 4 months
01 May 2013, 12:40
Hello all,

This is my first post after lurking for some time!

My husband started his Primal Blueprint diet (kind of a paleo diet) on 1st Jan, and fed up of eating differnt meals I decided to join him on 9th Jan. A couple of weeks later, we watched the 5:2 Horizon programme and decided to give it a whirl too.

My starting weight was a shameful 19 stone 2lbs (how did that happen?)
My husband wanted to lose 2 stone after being disgusted with photos of himself on our honeymoon..

Our progress?? Well, hubby lost the two stone by the beginning of April and is now on a 6:1 to maintain. He is nowing trying to see if he can get a six pack in time for his 40th at the end of June!

As of today I have lost 2 stone and 3lbs - still a long way to go (50+ pounds)but I am really happy. I have rediscovered some old clothes in my "spare" wardrobe and really need to find some new skirts for work.

I have never found fasting to be a problem, didn't get headaches at all - I think it was th switch to the Paleo diet that helped (very low sugar consumption etc)

Can honestly say, this is an easy way of life, I do cheat on the Paleo, I enjoy the odd slice of bread, cake and chocolate etc!

Fingers crossed it continues - thank you to everyone that contributes to this forum, especially the moderaters, its fun to lurk and read everyones posts.

Good luck - Badgirl (slowly turning into a Goodgirl!)

Well done on the weight loss, I'm so impressed and motivated. It's also good to see others who have a lot to lose - I'm in the same boat and had started to wonder if everyone on the forum only has a few pounds to go (not that I'm saying that that is in any way easier than losing a lot etc, just that their target is soooo much closer  )
Good luck with the rest of the 'journey'

WOW! You lost almost 2 lbs per week! Congratulations on your weight loss!

I have a lot to lose, and at times it goes a bit slow, but I love this WoE and plan to continue. Thanks for sharing. It gives me hope that it is possible to lose long term on this plan.

I too have been lurking for some time, and have decided that now is the time to join in with you all. I have just spent a month in New York (I live in the UK) and have put on 5 pounds of the 10 pounds I lost on 5:2 before our holiday. I am delighted with that as normally I would have gained much more and now intend to knuckle down and get rid of the rest!
