Quite a few very good points in that article. Though personally I can eat one slice of pizza (I do it every week on non-fast days) and I usually don't eat all the crust, either, which cuts down considerably on the carb load.
I also dont' find that artificial sweeteners make me hungry. I know the theoretical reasons for that recommendation, but I've tried going completely sugar free with no artificial sweeteners for a month at a time and not found any difference in my appetite.
But MSG, food additives, and lots and lots of carbs--fast or slow--most definitely make people not only hungry but prone to gain.
Did you know that one study found that people eating the identical diet, calorie wise, gained far more weight when that diet included high levels of MSG than when it didn't?
