New Edition, 2014. Caught my eye on the table outside the news agency. I bought it. It's a little book. It cost me $10, and that was the end of the Food money. I have just counted up the calories consumed so far today, and I find I have had about 700 calories. Not too bad, as there'll be nothing more until dinner time. That was counted after breakfast and lunch. I'm old fashioned and find it much easier to use an actual book than fiddle around on the internet with My Fitness Pal. So I think it's money well spent. I have never counted calories in my life and now I try to on Fast days, but now I'm going to look up what i eat on non fast days and see what it amounts to. I had to guess with the homemade ginger chocolate biscuits. I only had one and they are small, so I called it 30 cals. Do experienced calorie counters think that would be ok?

I calculated my small home made Choc cookies at 100 cals each - they are flour eggs butter and cocoa powder, so similar to ginger biscuit recipe I would think.

Hi @Sallyo, I had a look on My Fitness Pal for calories to match your biscuits. I think 30 cals is too low. Depending on the ingredients, you are probably looking at around 100 cals.
If you would like to know, post the list of ingredients and I will work it out for you on My Fitness Pal.

Hi Sallyo..I agree with the others that yr little cookie is prob about100 cals ..possibly slightly less if they're very tiny, but deffo more than 30 cals x sound delicious whatever the cals! X

I prefer books too @Sallyo
janeg and myfitnesspal are definitely not at one with each other!

Me too. I've tried My Fitness Pal and Spark People but I really prefer using a calculator and my note book although I'm happy to look items up on line. Having said that I don't count in great detail any more just guesstimates, which I usually round upwards.

I think I have that book somewhere. I still like calorie king. I have the app on my iPad.
