Came across this article that was written back in January 2013. Thought it did a pretty good job of summing up the latest scientific evidence of fasting without it getting too nerdy. Good for folks who want to learn more without getting too technical.

Thanks Guitar1969, interesting article but this part wasn't quite right though:

I am trying out the "5:2" diet, which allows me 600 calories in a single meal on each of two weekly "fast" days


We don't have to eat all our calories in one single meal - unless we want to.
Thanks for posting this. I've passed it on to a friend who has just come through cancer treatment and is thinking of giving fasting a go. It is an easily accessible summary of information. :)

Yeah - You can tell it was written by an outsider looking in. Still thought it was a pretty good summary.
