was a few weeks back. someone posted it on the facebook comments on the article from Sunday Night.

Fasting regimes such as the '5:2' diet could help the body guard against diseases including cancer, diabetes and Alzheimer's, according to a new study.
I really wish the MSM would learn the difference between a review and primary research. There is no new study. There is a review (totally worth reading--a great summary of the information that's out there) of old studies.

Sorry. carry on.

Sing it, @MaryAnn - it's a major bugbear of mine. :)

It's a shame because I sometimes fret that people don't try plans such as 5:2 or IF because they're hopelessly over-hyped for various benefits that have yet to be established through careful research. But, if discussed on their merits, they're fine for what we currently know, and may offer help to a fair number of people. [/grumble]
