OMG diet - Skipping breakfast
29 Mar 2013, 07:10
I thought I had read somewhere about a man who advocated skipping breakfast, then exercising and taking cold baths. This reminded me a bit of the fast diet so I thought I would post a link

The diet does have some bizzare ideas (in my view) such as broccoli being as bad as coke.

The cold bath thing - BRRRRRR, especially now, but that did lead me to think how cold some of us feel on fast days.

It increases thyroid function, stimulates production of brown adipose tissue which generates more heat keeping us warmer and burning up more calories and like other forms of mild stress makes us stronger! So let's embrace it!

Hmm, will I lose less weight in the summer? I must start rowing with hubby then

Thank goodness the fast diet came form Michael Moseley rather than inspired by the Towie stars, I would never admit to being on it!
OMG! How ridiculous!

Actually there are some reasonable ideas in there, such as limiting carb intake and avoiding smoothies and snacking, but the high protein recommendation is dubious.

It would take more than the OMG diet to get me looking like a Towie girl (or even boy, if there are such)...
