Alcohol and Keto

Here's an interesting article from MDA that details the effects of alcohol on ketosis (fat burning).

In view of the fact that glucose and alcohol are to a certain extent metabolically interchangeable I find it quite plausible that alcohol can interrupt the use of ketones as fuel. So not much news here as far as I am concerned, apart from the fact that alcohol provides us with so-called 'empty calories' and is therefore to be avoided. In spite of all this I will still drink the occasional glass of vino. Curious to know what others have to say about the subject.
