Does anyone know?
24 Nov 2013, 17:53
I have just eaten tasteless blueberries & have often wondered if tasteless fruit has the same nutrient value as more flavourful ones? I am assuming that it is sucrose that adds to the sweet flavour but does that mean that a lack of sweet taste also means less sucrose? Unfortunately if fruit looks good it's not until you taste it that you find out there is little flavour.

I think its fructose which is the sweeter part of sugar, glucose is not very sweet.
If your blueberries were not sweet they matched the ones I have been eating, they are probably very good for antioxidants (in the skins). Lack of fructose is a good thing!

Just ditched some extremely sour aging blueberries. I'll wait until my two blueberry bushes produce their lovely fruit next summer :0)
