The 5:2 Lab

My wife and I started 5:2 soon after Michael's programme for the alleged health benefits. Neither of us was overweight ( at least according to BMI, which isn't saying much). Inevitably we have lost weight, in my case over a stone, but what we really want to know is what bio markers do we need to measure in order to see whether or not our risks of diabetes and other nasties has decreased. Can anyone list them please? PhilT, carorees?
I would start with the cheap and easily available ones - fasting blood glucose, blood pressure and ratio of total to HDL cholesterol. Some of the supermarket pharmacies and Lloyds etc do them cheap and sometimes free if you can't squeeze them out of your doc.
