My doctor told me to not stress because stress increases cortisol and cortisol slows down weight loss. Is it increased by bad sleep quality too?

No worse than usual
My OH was diagnosed as diabetic (BG 209 mg/dL), we opted to try diet and exercise over taking the prescribed metformin. I reduced or removed all high GL foods from his diet (he still misses the mashed potatoes, lol) and all carbs had to have a higher fiber content to make it into the meal. He also started walking after every meal. His BG readings are high normal now and his A1c or AC1 test came back as low normal. If he doesn't test regularly, he slips back and his BG starts to climb. But his morning test is always a bit more elevated than a test taken before an afternoon or evening meal.
