The 5:2 Lab

In reaction to the 'shorties united' thread and being 5'10", I posted an alternative thread which some taller ladies have contributed to. This was not very serious, but it has been lovely to share our gripes

Then I got to thinking: on the Dr MM Horizon program, there was a 'long lived' mouse. It was noticeably smaller than the control specimen.

Is anyone aware of any research into the implications of height on life expectancy or health in humans? I am the child of taller than average parents but I also was well nourished as a child, so there are both environmental and genetic influences that have made me this size and shape!
I've seen reports that being taller is healthier and also the reverse. However the balance is towards taller = longer lived. That may be due to it being evidence of better nutrition when young but I don't think it's worth wondering about, as whichever it is, it's not significant compared with other lifestyle factors you can affect.
