miffy, I've always taken my coffee with plenty of cream and sugar til it's almost like candy. It's only lately that I've been able to drink my coffee black and that's weaker instant coffee. I find the coconut oil smooths out the flavor. Less harsh and bitter to my palette. And gives it a fuller texture like with cream. It doesn't taste much of coconut at the level I use...less than a teaspoon...even though I'm using a good organic virgin coconut oil. The melted oil does make a bit of a slick on top, but the texture is nice on the tongue. I don't notice the coffee being more sweet.
I'm almost getting brave enough to try drinking "real" coffee with the coconut oil.
